   @nikiboo Depends on the instance, I think! You're definitely not going to see some user bases on mastosoc, for example. But it could definitely be a factor; though I'm under the impression that people are generally much nicer here than on Twitter anyway. Federated networks don't really seem to work well with hate (which makes sense, structurally and sociologically speaking)

     The new mastodon users seem to be very careful to try to not disturb others, which i find interesting. I wonder how much of that is due to them not hosting their own instance, and as such not feeling like it's their personal space to express themselves?
