I guess it's #PrideMonth so they couldn't pop off about childhood obesity or single motherhood. They had to stay on message.

hmm,,, things are not so simple as that if looking "actual harm" rather than legal. production of such pictures tends to involve violations of trust, coercion, maybe physical abuse, but anonymised there's argument "it's not hurting anyone now" could be made. and a gun is a risk, deadly implement that's lighter and easier to manipulate and cause damage with than other such, like cars etc, making it greater risk for children etc. but pictures could also have risk of it becomes deanonymised or encountered by the picture subject somehow, which can hurt that person, and there's question of if obsessing over such pictures leads to future abuse risk as well etc. so dunno

@sloppyhog the reason possession of child pornography is illegal is that it violates the rights of the victim. There's no equivalent to that with owning a gun because I bought my gun and its existence doesn't hurt anybody by just existing.

mmm, for gun kept in house i think the danger is usually more 自殺 and accidents than intentional but
-
@shmibs @sloppyhog yeah I was only looking at it from an individual harm perspective, it could be argued that existence of a bunch of guns leads to gun violence whether or not your particular gun shot someone.
