      情報通信研究機構（NICT）は、光格子時計をもとにした標準時の生成に世界で初めて成功した。協定世界時（UTC）に対する時刻差を、従来の10億分の20秒から10億分の5秒以内と、4分の1以下に抑えられるとしている。
