Both work shifts left me extremely exhausted today. I remember that when I was younger I was able to work under high pressure and hefty workload for 18 hours straight, sleep 3 hours, and do another such shift the next day. Today it was 5 hours in the nursing home and 5 hours in the restaurant. Both works had a high workload respectively, though. But the good thing is that other than in former years the stress would eat at me and make me very hectic and impatient. Nowadays I can no longer work such long hours but I can stay focused, organised, and attentive for my surrounding without getting carried away by the work or the stress. At least some reward at last, at least with regard to self-improvement. I wasn't sure I'd ever come to that point.
