The main change I see coming with Musk buying Twitter is that in a short period of time all webpages outside Twitter linked to in posts inside Twitter will have to pay a fee to be displayed inside Twitter.

(The problem with walled garden is not that people cannot get in, but that they cannot get out. In that sense, Twitter and Mastodon are not that different.)
