The German government is about to greenlight the sale of domestic chip company Elmos to China (rather: to Swedish company Silex which is part of the Chinese company Sai MicroElectronics). Nobody understands this move and why Chancellor Scholz pushes for it.
The answer is quite simple: Sell a chip factory to China, so that China can deliver chips to the Russian military and defense industry. By selling the company to a Chinese company, Germany wouldn't be in breach of E.U. sanctions against Russia.
I really hope I'm wrong.
