   @cosmin Using the same protocol, avatars *should* update almost instantly whenever there is a change.
   I can't talk about Mastodon as I don't know how it works internally, but I have to run a script here once a week for the avatars to really catch up.
   And you are right, some of them don't appear there, but others do 😯

     I can't see #GnuSocial avatars from #Mastodon. I assume that's a bug (or a missing feature) in the latter.
