   @swarming Bang on. It's not a tech spin-off, it's a behavioural spin-off. Microblogging was an interesting idea, but humans rapidly ruined it in less than a decade.

     I really don't like the idea of #Mastodon as a kind of 'Twitter alternative'. I've been using Mastodon on-and-off via different accounts since 2019, and you know what everyone hates? The idea that the future is just a more complicated version of the exact fucking form of internet behaviour that got us to where we are right now.
