Although it often borders on Denglish, writing in my native tongue always felt awkward and like I'm suffering from autoglossophobia – the fear of one's own langauge. In English I feel far more at ease.
I can understand that people like to switch languages, even in one sentence, in particular when it comes to precision in describing things or evoking feelings. But I rarely do that now. I had this inclination more often when I was more fluent in Spanish than I am today, so that I could switch between three languages. Still, German has been the least favorable one of all three.-

Lately, however, I started to think about the extent to which this is limiting. It's at least artificial, doesn't necessarily reflect me as I am elsewhere. So how about posting from one account in different languages? Whatever seems most appropriate for the subject at hand. Or even switching languages randomly in one sentence.
Like you, I don't see much of a problem there, with all the automatic translation aids. I just see few who really do it like this.
That's why I asked.

I mean, we all have to look up words we don't understand in our own languages, it's not that different if you're just typing "define: ___"in google.
That said, if you're intentionally posting in a specific language, the post can be marked as that language (at least if you're using the website, client support varies) and mastodon has the ability to filter by language.
