   Something about the artstyle of Popeye triggered my JQ detector. I never would've normally imagined it, but seeing their strange alien proportions and faces made me look into it. It looks like Maus, or even the modern globohomo artstyle with the long bendy limbs. Also the idea that eating spinach turns you into a badass is proto-bugman. I'm amazed I could correctly detect the creator's ethno-religious background just from his artstyle, but I somehow could.

     I'm not saying Popeye is bad btw, I've just never considered it Jewish before until I looked closer
