     This wasn't even because of a recent crash! Either the bolt at the top of the shock came undone, or one of the pieces it fastens together broke.

     I saw it going up one of the big stroads here, after which it turned onto a side street next to a Tires Les Schwab.
     
     I thought that would be it, but when I was heading home on my errand, I saw it on the curb ramp up to the local Safeway's parking lot with its hazards flashing, completely blocking that entrance.
