ultimape ?? ? (ultimape@mastodon.social)'s status on Friday, 28-Sep-2018 03:18:21 JST ultimape ?? ? @moonman I've read some of the source code. The level of wizardry they are doing in special cases would make me afraid to even crack open the build script.
Google developed that weird thing where instead of sending down binaries, they send code diffs + have it be compiled user-side. I suspect that isn't something for the lighthearted. https://www.chromium.org/developers/design-documents/software-updates-courgette
Between that and the complexity of cross-platform builds changing over time http://blog.llvm.org/2018/03/clang-is-now-used-to-build-chrome-for.html I bet it's really really gnarly.
