  Wi-Fi Allianceが、Wi-Fiの世代がすぐ分かるよう新たな命名方法に変更する。現行の「IEEE 802.11n」は「Wi-Fi 4」に、「IEEE 802.11ac」は「Wi-Fi 5」に、次世代の「IEEE 802.11ax」は「Wi-Fi 6」になり、スマホのアイコンにも数字が表示される。
