@detectivehyde @lain Before the term was well-known there used to be a website that was bankrolled by Richard Spencer, called "Alternative Right". But you're right that in practice it's a grab-bag of "not mainstream conservatism". The primary thing I'd say they agree on is race is important, which is a pretty big divergence.

@detectivehyde @lain the communist argument is that right-libertarians are crypto-fascists. There's also a theory that when libertarians realize their ideas can't compete with statism that in desperation they completely flip to hyper-statism in an effort to protect their tribe since their ideology won't. There's probably half a dozen articles about why libertarians sometimes flip to fascism.
Another is that marginal ideological groups attract experience junkies, so they're more attached to the experience than the ideology so they're easy to flip.
