Came to know that one of my favorite mathematician,Grigory Isaakovich Barenblatt, who is the author of books that had been inspired me in course of study with his poetic words that are full of insights, had passed away this July at Moscow.

A pupil of Kolmogorov. A friend of Kompaneets and Zel'dovich. A one who succeeds Russian tradition of mathematics.
