   One of the nice things about pixelfed is that you can run it on a cheap LAMP stack.

   - Redis is optional, you can use database or fs cache instead.

   - It doesn't require much RAM if you choose to not optimize photos and videos and can poll instead of use websockets for realtime updates.

   - You can use MySQL, Postgres, SQLite and SQLServer databases.

   - Media uploads can be stored on S3 or S3-compatible services.

     @BranTarik You don't have to follow me or pixelfed if you don't like project updates.

     Federation support is in the huge PR on github btw, still working out some bugs. Have a nice day.
