@simsa04
1) What is the size of the file you are trying to upload? Does every file fail to upload, regardless of size? Does it show the same error message?
2) That's ok, when you write several 1500 character notices, we can arrage a meeting with a publisher :P -

1) : No, the error message persists. (No jpg file can be added by me right now.)
2) Nice of you, thanks, but I think 1,200 or less suffice. Because with 1,500 characters, the same problem will reoccur in 2 weeks :-)
Thanks for the magic, enjoy the evening! -

@administrator The other front-end issue is in your(?) default 'elbinario' theme. When hovering over the Send button, for example a new border width is added to the button, making all the content below that button jump down.
To fix, in display.css, it seemed that changing border-width from 0 to 1px to match the hover thickness, fixed the issue, ie.
For elements:
.form_notice input.submit, .form_settings input.submit, .form_settings input.cancel, #form_invite input.submit, .entity_subscribe .dialogbox input.submit_dialogbox, .entity_tag .dialogbox input.submit_dialogbox, .form_repeat.dialogbox input.submit_dialogbox
{
border-width: 1px; /* NOT 0 */
} -

@simsa04 @dcent
1) I've applied @senooken suggestion; let me know if this fixes the issue for you.
2) I've setted the maximum character limit in 1500.
Thanks to both of you! -

@administrator
Hi there.
Two issues:
1) I cannot attach image files to notices. When done gs.net refuses to post with the error meassage "A file this large would exceed your user quota of 150000000 bytes"
2) When writing notices, I usally cannot use the whole number of characters but am cut short about 80 characters. I suppose it has something to do with the length of @-address (or reply) but I am not sure.
(I'd love to add screenshots but... I cannot attach them.) -

@dcent Do you mean in https://notabug.org/diogo/gnu-social/src/master/public/theme/neo-quitter/css/display.css#L97 ?
I've changed the value, but the behaviour is the same (and I have to admit that I hadn't noticed the thin line before) -

Thanks.
In both the 'elbinario' and 'neo-quitter' themes, which have the elegant "*gnu*social" logo in the top-left, CSS needs to be:
address {
background-position: -10px -601px; /* not -600px */
}
Ie. 1 pixel upward so the transparent(?) part in the image doesn't show a thin line artifact at the top of the element.
Do you see the thin line?
Whether the developer also wants to change the :hover image position is purely up to them. I personally like the way the logo goes down one pixel on hover. -

@dcent Yeah, loadaverage has been down for some time. Anyway, you have other ways of contacting there.
If you prefer not to, that's ok. If you send your suggestions to me, I can open the issue for you. -

I'm sort of disappointed that none of the three developers listed have an account on Fedi. The lead, Diego, says he has one and then I try it and the site doesn't work and then I see that he writes the instance no longer works below the link. See:
https://www.diogo.site/about/
I just have some very basic things to share changing something by 1 pixel etc. I don't have time to manage an account on a git repo, as great as gitea is, I just don't.
Maybe I will get around to reporting things one day. -

@dcent I forgot to add: maybe have a look at next version (3) of GNUSocial, in case devs are planning the suggestions you've made:

@dcent Ok, I've setted it in 300. It should work fine, I see it is updated in the registration form. https://gnusocial.net/url/10899508 -

Two-hundred is okay. It's possible that 300 would probably be better. I know that Mastodon defaulted to something like 500 but maybe that is too much.
I actually wasn't referring to your limit in the Settings page after a person is logged in but in the "signup page" before they were logged in. The signup interface kept repeating that I was over 100 when I wasn't. -

@uint8_t Thanks for sharing this! I'm currently using a small server (partially) as a NAS, and I've been thinking about replacing it with a Pi, but not after you've said this.
Do you know if other brands of small, energy-efficient boards have this limitation? -
