The upcoming version of Mastodon (2.6) will have improved support for so-called circles (a group of recipients that is less than all your followers)

Mastodon itself does not implement circles, mind you, but e.g. Hubzilla does, and any ActivityPub server could.

Prior to this patch, such messages would appear as DMs with a large number of recipients in Mastodon. After the patch, they will appear just like normal private posts.

The Master and Margarita is a great novel and I'm glad to learn that people outside of Russia know about it too.

Mastodon's 2 Year Anniversary: A retrospective

I know this is like super subjective but what do you think are the best toots on Mastodon that I should include in the 2 year anniversary post?

Improving Mastodon support for aspects/circles functionality of other ActivityPub implementations, i.e. how such limited audience messages are received and distributed internally.

Wish there was a way to find all GitHub issues that are really customer support requests (e.g. asking for help or troubleshooting) and mass-close them, so I can have a clearer overview of actual bug reports...
