@lain reminded me that catherine the great used to hold crossdressing balls regularly.> Empresses Elizaveta Petrovna and Catherine the Great sometimes allowed themselves a little mischef and organized events to which the public should show up dressed as opposite sex. These masquerades were held regularly, and during fall-winter of 1744 they were held every tuesday in Moscow. Empress Elizabeth complied the guest list herself and imposed a strict ban on showing up in "own" costumes. Ladies only dressed as gentlemen, gentlemen only dressed as ladies. No exceptions. Catherine forced guests to change to dresses of opposite sex, and even buy them on credit. Right during the ball.translated from: https://www.sobaka.ru/fashion/heroes/67114

@lain I mean, obviously not by much. I had a good laugh when I saw these articles

rinpatchwas searching for ways to entertain myself on a weekday that didn't involve reading books or watching something because I didn't really feel like doing either of those things and out of nowhere decided to read constitution of russian federation. finished reading the entire thing about an hour later. where do I get my "good citizen" badge now

rinpatchwe now have API documentation for most client APIs Pleroma provides (except websocket) deployed at https://api.pleroma.social . it is generated from the same openapi spec we use to generate parameter validation code, so there shouldn't be any parameters or endpoints missing. there are still some issues like insufficient descriptions, missing possible response codes, some fields not marked as nullable for some endpoints, but in general it should be better than having to go back and forth between three files and mastodon api documentation. please feel free to report any issues

rinpatchtoday the department of transport made the metro trains not stop at the stations as soon as protesters started gathering near them, so protesters quickly reorganized to meet near other stations. was quite entertaining to watch this cat-and-mouse game unfold in real time, but also I do not envy those who had to commute through the center using the metro today lol
@mametsuko kinda obvious, but it gets easier the more movies you watch, at least it did for me. until recently I found it hard to watch english movies without subtitles (even though I could understand youtube videos perfectly), so I resorted to using subtitles. but then I forced myself to watch like 3 movies with subs disabled and understanding what was said became quite easier
we weren't able to carry the packages and walk at a reasonable speed at the same time due to their weight and size, so we just put them on the ground and pushed them. the sidewalks were covered with ice and snow, so they were sliding pretty well. my friend called this activity "box racing"
@pony not sure what you mean, you can't rent carts in post offices here. we could've ordered a taxi or delivery to the door from the post office but uhh yolo
@lain@pony didn't post it at the time since I felt it would be a sad ending to the saga, but the next day after the initial post we took the cart for another ride. our goal was going to a shopping centre 5km away and back. on the 3rd kilometer it became obvious the battery won't make it, so we turned back. unfortunately it discharged shortly afterwards, so we had to drag the thing 2km uphill with a resistance band since that's what we had on hand. needless to say we postponed the next attempt until summer
