Just realized "mastadon" is misspelled. I remember DM'ing Gargron about that in 2016. I warned him to register mastadon.com/.social because I kept spelling it wrong.

In 2016 I started working on a successor to GNU/Social. When I re-joined the fediverse in March 2018 I realized it couldn't compete with Mastodon and Pleroma.

I started working on Pixelfed instead. I'm glad I made that choice!

It was harder to implement than I expected, relies on cache (invalidation), and routing. I really like quill.js, the delta format is interesting.
