   @DJWalnut @shaderphantom @kaniini @kemonine @dielan @freakazoid If apps are likely to get banned for being able to operate over an open protocol with a given instance based on the content of that instance, would those apps also need to hardcode blocks to SmugLoli? Or SPC, or FSE? If not, why not?

     @DJWalnut @shaderphantom @kaniini @kemonine @dielan @freakazoid So, are we tacitly admitting that this is functionally meaningless, and is strictly a PR move in the face of unfair smear campaigns by dishonest and/or misinformed actors?

     I'd be concerned about the precedent set in caving to that kind of pressure.

     @DJWalnut @shaderphantom @kaniini @kemonine @dielan @freakazoid This strongly suggests the problem lies with Google/Apple, not Gab. Once app devs start balkanizing the Fediverse in the face of every PR smear, it will immediately be weaponized by every malicious partisan actor across the entire spectrum.

     @DJWalnut @shaderphantom @kaniini @kemonine @dielan @freakazoid These things have an unfortunate way of escalating. You'd be surprised what a little pressure in the right place at the right time can do.

     I'm far from able the make any calls, but I would say hold ground and refuse to comply with anything short of a direct demand from the Store or a court order. Let them be the bad guy first.
