@cwebber Do you know Diaspora and its concept of aspects?
I'm already thinking of extending this approach into channels for quite a while, where some of these aspects are public and people can decide to only subscribe to certain aspects of my life.
So my family can subscribe to my personal stuff, photography and sports aspects ("channels") while not getting my tech posts from the tech channel/ aspect.

But I never found time to actually work on that concept :(
