   @velartrill it does, yes, in contextthe situation for an immigrating group fleeing the ccp is entirely different. a self-selected group of people seeing themselves escaping garbage for something better, and who have put in work just to get therecompare also to the conflict between african immigrants and established "black culture" in the US. the immigrating group sees itself as having invested effort in already moving to a "higher status bracket" and so is less likely to develop, at least not for a generation or three, the chronic discontent that appears in the established local communities from seeing others dealt a better hand, and it's that resentment that leads to acting out and hiding in self-constructed fantasy world
