@tija @deadheat look at how based this game was, leaving both music and FMVs out in the filesystem without packing in custom formatsscreenshot.jpg
-
@tija @deadheat it's a subscheme of ADPCM and what I meant is that it is a common practice is to pack those in either custom formats or CRI's own proprietary virtual filesystem. I guess the filesystem part wasn't around in the times of :sega: Saturn though.

@roka @deadheat > ADX is a lossy proprietary audio storage and compression format developed by CRI Middleware specifically for use in video games; aHR0cHM6Ly9tZWRpYS5tc3Rkbi5qcC9…
-
@tija @deadheat btw it uses videos stored in SEGA FILM container and containing Cinepak 15 fps video of resolution 352x224 (and as typical of Cinepak, full 24-bit RGB colourspace) coupled with ADX audio encoded at exactly the same parameters as audio tracks. The disc also doesn't use any directory hierarchy, every piece of data is just floating in the root directory.

@roka @deadheat Oh.
-
@tija @deadheat and as is also typical of :sega: Saturn games, it contains fully valid abstract, bibliography and copyright text files as referenced by ISO 9660's primary volume descriptor ww
