@shibao @Moon @Zettour deer hunting is a traumatising experience wouldn't wish on anyone's children
-
@Moon @shibao like to think having to kill something would have gravitas effect (and put people off it in places like here where its unnecessary), but western approach has traditionally been more unhealthy descartes response which then desensitises people, and would probably be back towards old interpersonal violence levelsfor here at least, though, force to cut open a deer's stomach and throw organs everywhere and drag bloody carcass for miles, drain blood and cut off its head pulled up on "meat hooks" and then see people eating that thing for a whole year afterwards..combines with later people-dying-violently imagery to be permanent can't-get-out-of-head-shake-vomit-corner-cry

@shmibs @Zettour @shibao If I ever have children, they will learn to hunt and they will be taught to honor and respect the sacrifice that game makes so that we can eat. I understand that is not for everyone.

@shmibs @Zettour @shibao If one eats meat they should kill something and eat it at least once in their life so they understand the gravity of it and what they're participating in. Or more generally, understand death personally.
