@tek It is sad to see so many of the tools that were built around Mastodon disappeared.
Also the amount of project using ActivitySub is crazy now :fishthink:
Last one that I remembered were gnu social, Mastodon, pleroma.
Now I see there is also Misskey (not even sure if gnu social is still a thing)
@tek That's interesting, I thought we were already in the 100Gb with all the instances we're connected to.
How many instances actually are we connected to ?
Would be awesome to see a graph with all the connections :blobcatcamera:
@Balor It doesn’t grow as quickly as you’d think. Fortunately! 😃 It seems to be closer to O(users). I honestly don’t know how many we federate with. I could get some raw numbers from SQL, but how many are still alive? I’m not sure. It’s probably reasonable to guess that we federate with 90% of existing multi-user servers, though: with about 4,000 users *someone* is bound to have talked to almost everyone.
There used to be great websites for that. I don’t know now.
@tek I saw your post just after I sent my toot :ablobcatwink:
Quite a full machinery you need to run Mastodon. I always wondered, with all the instances we're federated with, what the size in GB (TB ?) of the Postgres database?
@Balor 44GB as of this afternoon.
@Balor Hey there! Great to see you around. 🙂 Yeah, that’s been an adventure!
@aab Thanks for that website.
Funkwhale, never heard of that one :blobcat3c:
