For anyone who doesn't know, the reason they're asking is that their next question will be to ask if you wrapped tefillin today.

Then when you say you haven't, they will tell you how quick it would be, etc.

Basically it's their way of trying to get Jews to be more religious and also score some quick mitzvah points.

I've suggested other mizvahs like helping me with my groceries and they've never said yes...

Also, I was using shorthand when I said they would offer you to wrap tefillin. They'll ask you to do *some* religious thing today, whether that's wrapping tefillin, taking a shabbat candle, taking a holiday relevant item (etrog, etc.)

They're from a group called Chabad. It's hard to explain what/who they are but they're a sort of Jewish sect or offshoot.

Basically, it's a mitzvah to help a Jew do something religious, so they do.

Does anyone on the Fediverse knows of a good audio editor?

I want to release Libre Lounge out but I'm stuck in a mental rut editing the audio. But if I could pay for someone to do it, it would be done faster and we'd have more episodes.

If you're an audio editor or know of one that would be willing to edit a 45-1 hour long podcast, let me know.

    Boosts appreciated!

@yvolk @andstatus @thefaico @trwnh @eliotberriot @cwebber Thanks for your thoughtful explanation, I'm not sure everyone mentioned here wants to be part of this discussion but it's an interesting one for me!

I use the term "identities" specifically to reference the "id" property of the AP spec.

And some of the technologies you mentioned (Webfinger in particular) are not part of AP, so I think it's important to mention that.

Maybe I misunderstand the issue but I think part of it is that right now people are okay with having N ActivityPub identities in a way that mirrors their proprietary service life. "Mastadon, PeerTube, Pixelfed" each on their own. But if you moved the bar the other way, to each of those being some sub-stream of your general AP identity, then you'd insist on a client (or c2s model) that was flexible enough to handle it.
