@deadheat@guizzy@Neo_Dolus while Christmas NiGHTS is ultimately a mere demo of the full game (which is reflected in how it was distributed outside of Japan, as freebies to game magazines or pack-in), it has a lot of extra features unique to it, starting from complete reskins depending on the system's clock to unlockable artwork, karaoke mode etc.
I highly recommend playing it, as well as playing the original!

rokaThat prototype of Strife is fascinating. The rough mission flow in the initial parts seem identical and most of the initial locations are almost finished or close to their shape in the final version. However at that stage Blackbird seems like she didn't exist yet, even in the concept, and you're instead led by hand through the tasks. Amusingly, the fork retail version presented with the governor with you choosing to either assassinate some guy in the power plant or find a power tap are actually all separate missions you're supposed to take one after another in this prototype. On the Strife-specific improvement side, it seems majority of extra UI features are not there yet. On the story side, the basic dialogue system is implemented already and works but writing is very bare, to the point of dropping a punctuated list of tasks on you – clearly still a placeholder pending a rewrite, meant to convey the bare minimum.
:gib: :rokalife: I don't reply to most of masadong „privacy” scopes so don't bother sending me anything but public or direct message (and in the case of latter, note it's NOT private at all on fundamental level) - unless you really want a reply that strips those away. I usually just ignore those though.
