Updated my bio with my full name, a better description of @pixelfed and finally added #fedi22 and submitted myself to the https://fediverse.info directory

I own activitypub.io, activitypub.network and activitypub.social and want to put them to use somehow.

Some ideas I have:
- activitypub.io: technical guides and implementations
- activitypub.network: server list
- activitypub.social: community group (when groups are ready)

These would be community maintained, and ultimately depend on @cwebber approval, I'd prefer to work with her on these or transfer domains to her rather than them sit unused!

It's unfortunate to see fedi apps, instances and projects come to an end.

It really makes you appreciate those still around, show them some love once in a while, it could mean the world to them!

We could eliminate most fediverse spam with sms registration at the expense of early adopters who disproportionately despise it.

Do we sacrifice growth for "UX" or take advantage of established anti-spam measures?

Instance admins: Would you be interested in following an account that announces instances that are likely spammy or facilitate spam due to lack of instance moderation?

This would be automated using signals from https://fedidb.org and other sources to help identify potentially problematic instances.

Ideally we could use this to reach out to the admin and let them know instead of just blocking them. What are your thoughts? #fediverse #fediAdmin

This is how text-only posts will look like on the pixelfed app, a few things I should mention:

- text only posts won't appear in timelines

- you can't create a top-level text only post

- we have no plans to support first class text-only posts, this is only for compatibility with our microblogging friends like GNU/Social, Honk and others

@feditips Pixelfed supports authorised fetch, I haven't encountered any issues myself but then again it's been a minute since I tested this.

A few spammers found a way to bypass the :pixelfed: spam detection tool.

The ongoing arms race continues, my options are increasingly limited unless I go nuclear...

I love challenges like these, continues to make me strive for the best anti-spam tools in the fediverse. Should really blog about this, I'm sure other projects might find it useful. #pixeldev

@sexybiggetje @Coffee The challenge with that is distinguishing forks from upstream. There is no uniform identifier (in nodeinfo for instance endpoints), some glitch instances have `+glitch` appended to version field but I can't find any hometown instances doing that.

If you have any ideas, let me know! Working on some new api endpoints too btw :)

@noellabo @Claire @mariusor @activitypub Hi, that is a bit different than what I'm doing with Pixelfed Stories.

We do not treat them as regular posts (Note, Article), they are not displayed in timelines or profiles.

I wonder if any other #fediverse project is interested in supporting ephemeral stories.

@Claire @mariusor @activitypub Good point, we're going to use a custom object type. I don't see the point of endTime (and putting onus on implementation to delete the story) when we will send Delete when they expire.
