I'm just being a prick. I'm a cynic by nature, so I assume the worst and hope to be pleasantly surprised. I can appreciate they're playing a balancing act, I just wish more people had the stones to tell the "words = violence" crowd to get fucked.

Funny, "its just words" is the whole of my argument why FDroid doesn't need to give a shit either way. I don't go to an app repo to get lectured at.

As long as they do their one job and do it well, I don't give a rat's ass about anything else. But the pretentious masturbatory word-salad of a blog post is a warning sign that they're more open to PC pressure than not at all.

Frankly, the inclusion of the flowery bullshit is enough to concern me. Vague platitudes about not allowing software that "oppresses minorities" leaves a lot of wiggle room for dumb bullshit.

I want to see how they'd respond to TuskyUncensored applying to FDroid. Delisting an existing app for choosing not to block a domain is one thing, but will they add a fork that exists to undo a partisan ideological block?

To be entirely fair, the J-cops have a pretty miserably track record with death threats and stalkers. Arguments can be made on both sides, but when you report several thousands messages of "I'm going to stab you" and the cops shrug until a guy is literally sticking a knife in you, I'd be pretty pissed too.
