In our society, wealth is a key measure for social status. Unless you define for yourself what success means, success will be defined by society as obtaining the highest possible social status, and in practice that means being as wealthy as possible.

The Japanese word 竜舌蘭 (ryuuzetsuran) means "agave", also called the century plant because it takes several decades before it flowers. It's a big succulent plant, the base about 3 m in diameter and the flower stalk up to 8 m.

The literal translation of the Japanese name is "dragon tongue lily".

@toneji @Eidon Not yet, in Scotland spring comes quite late. My dwarf cherry tree (湖上の舞) has just started blossoming, and the plum blossoms are also starting. Maybe cherry blossoms in a month from now.
