@sjw I don't care amuch about it.
Preventing more filter bubble "security" is more important. Gas the rabbit, fedi wars now.
-
@sjw Authenticated fetches. So no one you don't know can read your posts. Makes it impossible to meet new people.

@nepfag @sjw so it was him again

@rin @sjw The point of it is to keep everyone who is not in the original audience from fetching a post. This leads to filter bubbles and makes it hard to meet new people since no one who isn't following you already will ever be able too your posts.

@roka @rin @sjw It's hexchat though

@rin @sjw Given how the stated goal behind all of this is to "stop harrassment", I'm having a hard time believing it's not the latter :cirnoCry:
-
@matrix @sjw @nepfag @p @rin it's not the instance with the post that signs the request, it's the requesting instance.

:kaz: Why are we still here?
:kaz: Just to suffer?
:kaz: Every night, I can feel my posts. My friends. Even my likes.
:kaz: The federation I've lost,
:kaz: the comrades I've lost...
:kaz: won't stop hurting.
:kaz: It's like they're all still there.
:kaz: You feel it too, don't you?
:kazrevenge: I'M GONNA MAKE THEM GIVE BACK OUR FEDI.

@opal @Ricotta @fluffy @lain @p @rin @sjw @xj9 Eh, the main problem with that kind of network is that your home IP shows up when you connect to other users. Having a server is a single point of failure and a potential place to collect (and abuse) PII, but I still trust a lot of fedi admins more than my ISP when it comes to that.
Personally, I recommend an account on shitposter.club over any p2p solution. (on GNU/Smug too of course but bias and all that)

@p @Ricotta @fluffy @lain @rin @sjw @xj9 At that point just use TOR. I was assuming that the goal was still a more-or-less-social network and not just a bunker for digital preppers. Because we had that, it was called FROST on freenet.
