Twitter went from an exciting discovery type social network to a rescue operation plus transactional social network.
I can introduce others to the #Fediverse but I also use Twitter for business (airlines, hotels, government, etcetera) as I get a faster response via customer service.
This is not my first rodeo being on a hostile #Twitter site. I was around when terrorists had an unchecked presence on Twitter.

👉🏾 Convice people to start Mastodon & Pixelfed accounts
👉🏾 Business reasons (companies still using Twitter)

You can no longer “use” #Twitter the way you were once able to.

@sneeuwkat @moriteppei Twitter was way more hostile before the Taliban, Al Qaeda & other terrorist organizations roamed the site unchecked.
I remember seeing NATO arguing with the Taliban on body counts after a battle (it was surreal).
I also received death threats then, albeit that ironically came from the sports tweeting arena! 😂🤣😂
I do not recommend others staying on #Twitter as it will become hostile fast.
But some of us will remain to guide others out.

今回の件ばかりは心底肝が冷えたので（承前）ツイッターアカウントをいよいよ手じまいにしようと、あそこだけで連絡のとれているお友だちにDMを送っていたら、マストドンJPなどはすでにDMの中でも禁止ワードで、それらが含まれているメッセージの送信ができませんでした。

Instead of bashing Musk and criticizing Twitter, I think it's important that we all focus on increasing the appeal of the alternatives. #mastodon is great, but for the greater good it's more important that people feel secure to move away from #twitter than that they move to Mastodon. I dislike #meta but I think #instagram right now is still a lesser evil. #linkedin is a place to find an audience if you're a public speaker. Building communities in #discord and #twitch works as well.

It is EXTREMELY URGENT that government agencies, emergency groups, and others who have over time become dependent on #Twitter to disseminate important announcements to the public, now move quickly to prepare alternative methods (which they really should have already).

It is clear that Musk's behavior is decimating Twitter as a reliable platform for reaching the public without interference, and since Musk now says he will let all hate speech and disinformation that is "not illegal or spam" be propagated on Twitter, even from previously suspended accounts, Twitter will now rapidly become of zero value as a source of trustworthy information on any topics.

DO NOT DELAY!

If you are new to #mastodon, migrating from #twitter and you love to post videos, please consider posting your video over at a hosting site such as Youtube or Vimeo (others exist). Then post the link, it should show and play in your Toot.
It saves your server from having to store and stream huge quantities of extra data.

技術的な部分はもうその通りとしか言いようがない。分散システム、特にそれらが密結合するファディバースが #Twitter のようなトランザクションを捌けるわけがない。
イーロン・マスクが一億人のフォロワーを連れてきたら、というのは極端にしても、1万のサーバーからフォローされるアカウントを支えられるサーバーは限られる。
でもね、少なくとも私がサーバーを持った理由は、Twitterより優れたSNSが欲しかったからじゃないんだよ。
ただ、欲しかった。
