I'm working on a way to delete your old toots, but can't decide what's a better approach, having a setting to opt into a scheduled task that queries old toots and deletes them when it finds them, or have a button that would initiate the delete for a time period manually.

Also in both cases I have to think of how to space the deletes out so they don't impact other activities on the server. :angery:

There is a feature request asking Mastodon to strip out custom emojis from display names. What's the problem with them? Mostly it's about spoofing Twitter's verified badge, which is not a problem for experienced users but continuously trips up new people. However, that occurs even with ✅. The other problem is it's annoying how emojis are read out on screen readers. So maybe we should just strip out all emojis from display names?

Sometimes I wonder if the word "boost" is just too alien, like if you're telling someone outside of Mastodon that you're boosting something, what do they think you're talking about. It was "reblog" originally. Oh well

@tomas This is amazing. I put up my work as AGPL, promote ActivityPub and its other implementations, promote independent Mastodon apps, but if I dare have a personal vision for the kind of work I'm doing, I'm worse than facebook.
