@am so with factorio, I always feel pressured to do it "the right way first"cuz whatever I make, I'll eventually NEED to remake if it's not perfectwith mindustry, all maps are ephemeral, and that's GREATit's also open source, and you can have it for free on itchio (though I'd definitely throw the dev a few dollaroos, it's a great game, really)also the external pressure aspect of mindustry is more uh... predictable? less random than the factorio attacks

@mametsuko I also have some interest in german (explanation is kind of long) and japanese (japan is one of the few countries on earth that actually have good historical records, and I would love to read those in the original, but it's not enough of a motivation for me to seek out practice and attack learning materials with the energy required to actually make it work)

@nik you get most of zfs' features, without the need for a ram cache (it's fast enough, especially on an ssd, to just not use one), and in a more linux-native formatalso no resilvering (rebalancing is a thing but everything is usable during a rebalance)if you don't know zfs, then:you get filesystem level lvm with dynamic quotas, snapshots, the ability to send snapshots filesystem-level (think rsync except no need to worry about stuff like permissions), CoW (too much to really talk about here), in-line compression (including zstd, iirc? I don't use it)the lvm stuff includes multi-device btw

#fedora 33's default installer defaults to btrfs nowthey also use btrfs correctly (subvol 5 contains home and root subvols, which are mounted via -o subvol=/{home,root})I am honestly very impressed, they're the first installer I know of that gets this right

@shmibs @Moon @chjarasure it is, actually look into how it was discoveredBasically the only way to solve the color problem is to assume energy levels are quantized - i.e that there's an energy level above zero that you cannot be below without being zero This essentially shows that the universe is quantized because energy levels relate to all sorts of other stuff
