@sim it's an interesting point about marxism that pop-marxists and phony leftists never really admit. that marx really just wanted to accelerate capitalism because it would collapse on its own. i remember asking Fediverse legend Bob Mottram about this once and he was like "uhh, i dunno, if Marx rly thought that then the Paris commune wouldn't have been necessary" capitalism will collapse, but also they need to strangle it and kill it in case it survives somehow
@orekix@sim i saw a tweet the other day about how such a large percentage of food that gets wasted in western countries and how this is an indictment of capitalism because of 'waste' and such. but the person just reframed it as "if the problem with your system is that it produces *too much* food then it's not a fucking problem"

augustus pugin ?>how can something come from nothing>mfw Parmenides already answered this question 2500 years ago and nobody bothered to understand himat last i truly see that all existence is indivisible permanence, change is impossible and all of reality is one. if nothing changes then you don't have the problem of something coming from nothing. and therefore start of time and our perception of reality is an illusion, an emanation, and the big bang is really just materiality coming into fake existence from the One that is eternity

augustus pugin ?> Consideration of Wollstonecraft's 1792 magnum opus, together with Thomas Paine's "Rights of Man" inspired Taylor in his A Vindication of the Rights of Brutes: if men and women have rights, why not animals too?Thomas Taylor, 'the English Platonist' of the 18th century was powerfully based. He is right too. Man will never be free until we give seahorses the right to vote.
@Moon you mean like Renoise? that's beyond my paygrade. i bet its good if you want to do Venetian Snares type stuff. my feeling is music comes from inside and should have as few technical barriers between you and the output as possible, and overly programmatic stuff will get in the way of that, unless that's what you're aiming for. i.e. bands like Autechre just build semi-automatic sound modules and then press execute and a randomly generated album comes out the other end
@meowski i instinctively distrust everything i hear coming from that community. and also asymmetrically distributed advanced weapon tech is not impossible but kinda implausible. do DARPA or whoever really make stuff that isn't designed for production at scale?

augustus pugin ?Burnham says that democracy and capitalism rose together at the same time and that the bourgeois used and financed the idea of democracy to supplant the existing elites so they could replace them. it's an interesting idea because the left are super in favor of one but against the other, the idea of saying "no you have to get rid of both of them" is alien to them
@shmibs@shpuld i'm specifically saying that in the UK at least the public facing marketing campaign for this push was using the word jab up until the new 3rd shot which is now being referred to as a booster.
