I don’t know what happened to some of these people to turn them into the boy who cried fascist. Has everything lurched that far leftward?

Ademan (ademan@thebag.social)'s status on Wednesday, 25-May-2022 10:20:46 JST Ademan is that to say that NFT ownership’s relationship with legal ownership hasn’t been explored/established?
-
Ademan (ademan@thebag.social)'s status on Wednesday, 25-May-2022 10:20:43 JST Ademan I mean I could see the law compelling the thief to “return” the NFT or whatever, but certainly having the law recognize a different owner from the blockchain would be a ridiculous position

Ademan (ademan@thebag.social)'s status on Thursday, 28-Apr-2022 04:21:29 JST Ademan Sorry, that’s just not what happened. The double standard was and is clear as day. I’m genuinely surprised you’re working this hard to excuse a corporation’s behavior.
-
Ademan (ademan@thebag.social)'s status on Thursday, 28-Apr-2022 04:11:08 JST Ademan again, things milder than the OP were getting banned, so it’s provably not about what’s “too scary”

Ademan (ademan@thebag.social)'s status on Thursday, 28-Apr-2022 04:07:17 JST Ademan I’m sure the crackdowns had nothing to do with social media companies being repeatedly hauled into congress in the wake of the 2016 elections, nothing at all. And of course nothing to do with “stakeholder capitalism” which does not universally prioritize the health of the company the way you are indicating they do.

Ademan (ademan@thebag.social)'s status on Thursday, 28-Apr-2022 03:55:21 JST Ademan whether they’re removed or not doesn’t depend on them being considered legal free speech, though, because twitter is not the government and can act at its own discretion
Never said it did, I’m saying they’re selectively enforcing hypocrites

Ademan (ademan@thebag.social)'s status on Thursday, 28-Apr-2022 03:52:42 JST Ademan They aren’t credible threats, but neither are 99.9999% of the things twitter removed that they called “credible threats” in the past. Most of these are worse than posts I’ve seen get removed, but this is nothing new to twitter’s double standards.

Ademan (ademan@thebag.social)'s status on Tuesday, 05-Apr-2022 04:08:05 JST Ademan they’ll own the entire river and all the land around it
I quite literally said the opposite, but no, owning a river doesn’t make you a government, duh.
there will be organisations set up to hold companies accountable for their misbehaviour
no, duh. Do you know what the definition of government is?
subject to the collective will of the people, but that’s not government though
what kool aid do you drink that you think the government has anything to do with collective will?
-
Ademan (ademan@thebag.social)'s status on Tuesday, 05-Apr-2022 04:08:04 JST Ademan you’re also supposing the existence of a collective will, which provably cannot exist

Ademan (ademan@thebag.social)'s status on Tuesday, 05-Apr-2022 03:54:03 JST Ademan company name does not care about you or me
duh, neither does government name
it won’t be invested without incentive to do so
yes, if you harm people with your pollution, you are liable. You also have social pressure (ever heard of ESG?)
you can’t own the sky or river or ocean or atmosphere or water table or entire ecosystem
Of course you can own parts of those things, how silly. Water rights for instance are well established and understood. You don’t really even need strict property rights to establish damages in these cases.

Ademan (ademan@thebag.social)'s status on Tuesday, 05-Apr-2022 03:43:00 JST Ademan That completely misattributes improvements in environmental quality due to increased wealth. We can afford cleaner industry because we are rich. But I know the simplistic view is attractive (and taught uncritically to many people)

Ademan (ademan@thebag.social)'s status on Tuesday, 05-Apr-2022 03:24:38 JST Ademan I remember when I first heard about freicoin, back near the end of 2013, I was still fresh to Bitcoin and finally grokked it, and deeply appreciated the hard money aspect of it.
Then there was freicoin… seemingly throwing all of that away… ????

Ademan (ademan@thebag.social)'s status on Tuesday, 05-Apr-2022 03:24:36 JST Ademan There are some of us who think that government should exist, and should have a role to play in the management of the economy
Bad premises lead to bad decisions ????
