Need to find a sustainable way (Kickstarter, Grants, ect) to keep working on :pixelfed: full time otherwise I will need to start freelancing again and spend less time on pixelfed. Any ideas?

@fokuza @pixelfed Yeah the only real difference is top level posts must contain an image/video attachment.

@xuv Yeah, it wouldn't make sense for instances to use this feature if they federate because the data is accessible via APIs and AP (even RSS).

@xuv So a feature request I got a few months ago was to have a locked down, private instance for family only use.

Federation, registration and open APIs would be disabled. To make it clear this is already somewhat possible and the last step would be to make every page private (require auth).

Forgot to move a route middleware and am thinking this could be an optional feature. #bugsIntoFeatures #pixelfed

@Dissemble Not yet, they are waiting for me to finish the API. Can't give an ETA for the apps, but the apis will be out soon.
