    @shmibs your experience is kind of what I imagined uni would be like (including the grind part), but it slowly dawned on me that the latter part is just not going to happen in russia, no matter which university here I attend. there is a reason most successful russian it people studied and started their ventures/got initial investment abroad.well, my intention for this year was to give russia one last chance, and I think I am done with this country. for next study year, going to try to get into a university where I can actually do interesting stuff and meet interesting people in a country where I can actually have a future

    @kaia well, it not particularly hard to get my real name from this fedi account and the inverse. also zonk and shymess are my irl friends I've brought on fedi. but I doubt anyone at uni is aware of this account, even though I did tell people about pleroma. reason being that they are either not interested, can't read english or both

    @nonetrix @kaia good for you. I used to separate identities, but then some fedi friends turned irl friends, some irl friends joined fedi and my job became tied to this pseudonym and it just caused more friction at that point
