@shmibs try magic mushrooms. specifically, too much of them
-
@shmibs @tealturtle Well you're right, words matter and that is a concern.
-
@shmibs @tealturtle in practice the ownership doesn't mean much, but i understand your point.
-
@shmibs @tealturtle I don't have anything against commissions, they're great and I pay for them myself. NFT mostly just another way to get paid that happens to be popular right now.
-
I love it when I need to get work done but instead get to try to figure out why something doesn't work in Linux
-
@tealturtle the bottom line is you can make a lot more money selling NFTs. For whatever reason this ended up being the way that people want to pay you. > more directly support the artistsjust not true, I don't know where this comes from. I can sell NFTs from my own website and have no middleman. If you want to list them on OpenSea.io, they will take a cut, but you can set it up so you get a cut _every time_ the piece is sold again.> look at this shitthere are tons of good nfts in addition to the algorithmic shit
-
@tealturtle btw> bad for the environmentbasically true, but comparisons to online payments are hard to make because crypto energy use is pretty visible, but the true cost of online payments are not known because we ignore externalities.
-
@SpudsRudeEye @shmibs I need to also eat them but up to that point I will be nice to them.
-
@SpudsRudeEye @shmibs all the people working at a tv station I used to do public access stuff at were bahai, they were all extremely humble and nice people.
-
@shmibs is it a ghost I can't tell what it is
-
@shmibs I like your new avatar

@lelouchebag @Jdogg247 it's not a bioweapon but it was genetically modified to be virulent to humans and escaped from that lab, I am sure of it.
-
@lelouchebag @Jdogg247 scientists are still arguing about it but the cases against it are all bullshit, I have read every paper. It COULD BE a random mutation that just happens to be in the exact spot it would need to be to infect humans despite evolving in bats, and be genetically identical to furin cleavage sites that geneticists insert to make viruses infect humanized mice.It is not a bioweapon. It was modified to infect humanized mice (which necessarily means also humans) for research purposes. The Wuhan lab had previously been excoriated for lax safety practices despite being registered as one of the most biosecure labs in the world. The virus first showed up literally minutes away from the fucking lab in Wuhan.
-
@lelouchebag @Jdogg247 Scientists will tell you that furin cleavage sites have evolved independently many times in coronaviruses. What they will omit is the fact that there are multiple kinds of coronaviruses, and the particular kind that COVID-19 is has never had that evolution observed before. So it COULD BE but there is NO EVIDENCE

when I was a kid we watched skinemax and france was paris plus breasts and a mime now it is african immigrants living in tent cities, we are supposed to pretend this is the natural evolution of civilization
-
@shmibs it works, the config is confusing to me though.
-
