Yes, in theory gnusocial supports supports ActivityPub; in practice it's wobbly and to many instances federationj is not possible (most often with Pleroma instances). It's not that simple. NAyway, fingers crossed for your new instance.
@riaka He empezado a ver "The shivering truth", que recomendaste.
Preciosa. Terrorífica. Sarcástica. Gástrica. Apabullante. Hilarante.
Me has jodido (más) la cabeza 😅

A while back I was thinking about setting up a single user instance via mastohost. Turned out they use the newest Mastodon software (back then it was v3) and told me that because the newest version had dropped OStatus support, federation with gnusocial instances would not be possible. Don't know if that is still the case, but it was sufficient for me to look after an instance that, at least in principle and when everything works fine, supports ActivityPub and OStatus.

simsa04Why is Germany in constant need to be applauded for its aid and support to Ukraine? My guess is: Germany doesn't want to face the ugly fact that it is primarily responsible for Ukraine's devastation and the exodus of 12 millions Ukrainians from their homeland. Germany (and France) at the NATO summit in Bucharest (Romania) in 2008 stalled Ukraine's application for membership against the push by the U.S. Had Ukraine become a NATO member, the current war could have been avoided. But Germany didn't want to offend as well as provoke Russia, and the result is a war of extermination.

simsa04Russia removes its troops from the city of Kherson and "evacuates" (i.e., deports) civilians to the eastern bank of the Dnieper river. Even as resupply and reinforcement of soldiers is difficult to provide in this area, for Russia to simply give up this strategically important city (and area) that controls the water supplies to Crimea makes little sense. To me it rather looks like Russia prepares the ground for the deployment of "dirty nukes". ("If we can't have it, then the Ukrainians definitely won't get it" has been the maxim of the Russian warfare all along.)

@lxo I *might* know who you are talking about, and if we are talking about the same person, I told her about this issue myself. If she is at octodon.social, the issue is that they have "Authorized fetch" enabled; we don't have that in GS yet, and what you are saying is one of the most annoying consequences.
Anyway, if I'm wrong, please use the mail at https://gnusocial.net/doc/contact as internal DMs are broken right now. And thanks for reporting!
@simsa04 Thanks :) It's not that I think that I've done something wrong, it's that I don't understand what has happenned. Anyway, I'll sleep fine tonight :)
Don't take it too much to heart. It's not your fault and it doesn't lessen your great work you do with this instance. gnusocial.net is a welcoming instance with a hospitable atmosphere, and this to no little amount thanks to you.
@cosmin Using the same protocol, avatars *should* update almost instantly whenever there is a change.
I can't talk about Mastodon as I don't know how it works internally, but I have to run a script here once a week for the avatars to really catch up.
And you are right, some of them don't appear there, but others do 😯
